Scholarship Opportunity
Each year, Woman’s Life awards four scholarships of $1,000 per year for up to four years for undergraduate degree study. Each scholarship applicant must be a junior or benefit member with life insurance coverage from Woman’s Life for at least two years prior to the May 1st application deadline.
Scholarship Benefit Based on Merit
Woman’s Life awards two scholarships annually based on merit to a high school senior for undergraduate degree study. Each scholarship pays $1,000 per year for up to four years.
To apply for the Scholarship Benefit a member must:
- be a junior or benefit member for at least two years prior to the application deadline for the scholarship benefit;
- have a life insurance certificate in force at the time of application;
- hold a minimum of $5,000 of face amount of life insurance (including child riders);
- be a high school senior;
- take a scholastic aptitude test (SAT or ACT);
- provide transcripts of high school grades;
- complete and submit a Scholarship Benefit application.
Scholarship Benefit based on Need
Woman’s Life awards two scholarships based on financial need annually for undergraduate degree study or technical training. Each scholarship pays $1,000 per year for up to four years.
To apply for the Scholarship Benefit a member must:
- be a junior or benefit member at least two years prior to the application deadline for the scholarship benefit;
- have a life insurance certificate in force at the time of application;
- hold a minimum of $5,000 of face amount of life insurance (including child riders);
- complete and submit a Scholarship Benefit application.
Selection Process
- Scholarship recipients are selected by a committee that is not otherwise affiliated with Woman’s Life.
- No officer or member of Woman’s Life has any influence over the selection process.
- Applications can be submitted at any time; scholarships are awarded annually following the May 1st deadline.
- Scholarships, either based on need or merit, may be awarded only once during the member’s lifetime.
- Before payment of the benefit is made, a member must prove acceptance by an accredited college, university, or vocational/technical school.
Scholarship Recipient Continued Eligibility
- Recipient must maintain a GPA of 2.0 or greater.
- Recipient must hold a minimum of 12 credit hours in any given semester.
- Recipient must provide a copy of their current class schedule.
- Scholarship is paid for consecutive semesters attended, however, recipient may skip one semester without forfeiting the scholarship. If recipient misses more than one semester the scholarship is forfeited.
- Continue to hold life insurance coverage with Woman’s Life.
